Job summary

Chime is seeking a Senior Software Engineer for the Machine Learning Platform in San Francisco, CA. You will design and build scalable ML infrastructure, enabling data scientists and ML engineers to develop, train, deploy, and monitor models with strong governance and cost efficiency.

Responsibilities span model training, feature computation, real-time inference, and agentic orchestration, using Ray, Spark, and Terraform.

Qualifications

• Experience building distributed ML/AI infrastructure on AWS or similar cloud.
• Experience designing and operating scalable ML/AI platforms and pipelines.
• 5+ years in ML/AI infrastructure, platform engineering, or production ML systems.
• Hands-on with CI/CD, DevOps practices, and infrastructure as code.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and operate scalable ML and AI infrastructure on AWS.
• Develop shared platform capabilities for LLM and agentic workloads including model access and workflow orchestration.
• Build evaluation frameworks for non-deterministic AI systems with benchmarks and failure analysis.
• Establish observability, reliability, and governance for models and agents.
