Job summary

Relx Plc is seeking a Sr Statistical Modeler to develop and implement analytics and AI solutions across LexisNexis Risk Solutions. You will independently execute complex analytical work, translating problem statements into scalable ML solutions throughout the modeling lifecycle.

The role collaborates with engineering, product, and platform teams, communicating insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders. Experience in cloud environments and modern AI frameworks is valued.

Qualifications

• Proven Data Science experience, advanced academic experience—Master's degree may substitute part of required experience.
• Solid experience applying ML and statistical techniques to real-world problems.
• Hands-on experience building, evaluating, and iterating on predictive models.
• Experience evaluating model performance with appropriate metrics and validation.
• Experience with structured and unstructured data at scale.
• Proficiency in Python and/or R with pandas, NumPy, scikit-learn, XGBoost, PyTorch.
• Experience with SQL and cloud data platforms (relational or cloud-based).
• Hands-on ML workloads in AWS/Azure, incl. compute, storage, monitoring, cost-aware execution.
• Exposure to AI frameworks, including LLM-based solutions and retrieval workflows.
• Experience training/fine-tuning/evaluating neural networks in applied ML.
• Software engineering practices: testing, code quality, version control in DS codebases.
• Ability to execute complex analytics within defined scope.
• Clear, effective communicator for both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develops and maintains data infrastructure connecting internal datasets.
• Trains and mentors junior staff.
• Interprets business issues and recommends best practices to improve products and services.
• Works independently; seeks guidance only on the most complex tasks.
