Job summary

Nuro is hiring a Software Engineer for the ML Infrastructure team to build the core platform enabling researchers and engineers to access compute and data resources efficiently. You will drive automation for resource provisioning, scheduling, and feature management to accelerate the Nuro Driver development lifecycle.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of professional experience in ML Infrastructure, Backend Platform Engineering, or Distributed Systems.
• Experience with Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as Terraform, Pulumi, or Crossplane.
• Hands-on experience with large-scale orchestrators for compute-heavy workloads (Kubernetes, Ray, Slurm, or Volcano).
• Experience with distributed data processing frameworks (Spark or Beam).
• Experience implementing or maintaining feature stores/cache (Feast, Hopsworks, Redis).
• Strong understanding of distributed systems, networking, and storage bottlenecks in HPC.

Responsibilities

• Resource provisioning & IaC: scale automated pipelines to manage thousands of GPU/CPU nodes.
• Intelligent scheduling: design/workload orchestration to maximize hardware utilization and minimize wait times.
• Data & ETL: build pipelines to transform petabyte-scale sensor/ telemetry data.
• Feature management: implement robust feature caching/storage for low-latency access.
• Platform abstraction: contribute to a unified ML platform that abstracts cloud infrastructure.
