Job summary

FanDuel is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to help design scalable ML and GenAI/LLM systems, optimize search, and deliver personalized experiences using real-time data. You will collaborate with engineering, data science, and analytics teams to productionize insights, build data pipelines, and ensure data governance and security across the platform.

Qualifications

• 5-7+ years of relevant experience developing code in one or more core programming languages (Python, Java, etc.)
• 1+ Years of Experience implementing vector search, semantic search, or embedding-based retrieval systems for production ML or AI applications
• 1+ Years of Experience working with typeahead / autocomplete systems and integrating ML signals into query understanding or ranking workflows
• 1+ Years of Experience combining outputs from multiple retrieval systems to improve relevance
• 1+ Years of experience in deploying ML and GenAI/LLM models under scalability, correctness, and maintainability constraints
• Hands on experience with ML frameworks and libraries (Scikit-learn, Pytorch, Tensorflow, LightGBM, Keras, MLFlow) and LLM frameworks (LangChain, Hugging Face Transformers)
• Hands on experience with ML and GenAI/LLM cloud services (SageMaker, Bedrock, Databricks Mosaic AI, Seldon, Arize)
• 4+ Years of experience designing and building software architectures supporting ML and LLM workflows
• Deep understanding of data structures, distributed computing and software engineering principles
• 3+ Years of experience demonstrating technical leadership
• Experience with Flink, Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Terraform, Kinesis
• Experience with cloud environments (AWS, GCP, Azure)
• Data pipelines for production level ML and GenAI/LLM infrastructure
• Experience with vector databases and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG)

Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing intelligent search systems including typeahead, vector search and ML signals
• Developing scalable serving systems for ML and GenAI/LLM models
• Building platform features to streamline ML model development and deployment lifecycle
• Leveraging BI tools (Tableau, Looker, Knime) for insights
• Ensuring data security, privacy and governance
• Establishing data testing frameworks and CI/CD for data products
• Mentoring junior engineers and promoting best practices in reliability and data quality
• Collaborating with leadership to drive ML/GenAI adoption across product teams
