Job summary

Zoom is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer for the Trust and Safety Engineering team in San Jose, CA. This hybrid role requires on-site presence 4 days per week and involves building AI/ML models to protect millions of users.

You will translate research into scalable systems, collaborate with researchers, and stay current with AI advances to strengthen safety capabilities across the platform.

Qualifications

• 5 or more years of professional experience with a Master’s degree or PhD in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• Proficiency in Python or another relevant programming language.
• Hands-on experience developing and deploying machine learning models, with solid understanding of ML concepts, algorithms, and techniques; experience with NLP is a plus
• Familiarity with deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or similar
• Demonstrated enthusiasm for AI through academic or personal projects, with genuine curiosity for emerging possibilities in the field
• Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and optimize AI/ML algorithms, techniques, and solutions to address complex Trust and Safety challenges.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate research findings into scalable engineering solutions aligned with business objectives.
• Participate in code reviews, design discussions, and technical presentations to uphold the quality and reliability of engineering solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve existing systems and propose innovative solutions that enhance performance, scalability, and reliability.
• Stay current with advancements in AI/ML research and engineering, applying emerging knowledge to continuously strengthen our technical capabilities.
