Expedia Group is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to design and scale ML systems that power travel supply and pricing across its global platform. You will own end-to-end ML features—from problem framing and data sourcing to deployment, monitoring, and ongoing operational support—while collaborating with product, data, and engineering teams.

The role emphasizes building robust, scalable models, improving observability, and mentoring peers to elevate ML practices across domains.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related technical field or equivalent professional experience.
• 8+ years of relevant professional experience.
• Strong proficiency in Python or Java with core software engineering and ML fundamentals.
• Experience with service-oriented or microservice architectures and API development.
• Hands-on experience operating ML workflows in production, including monitoring and incident response.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and evolve scalable ML systems and services (LLD, API design, data modeling).
• Own end-to-end delivery of ML features from problem framing to deployment and monitoring.
• Collaborate with product, data, and engineering teams to translate business problems into ML solutions.
• Improve model and system quality through observability, validation, and security practices.
• Mentor other engineers in ML engineering and promote best practices across teams.
• Safely integrate AI/ML solutions with real-world products and maintain lifecycle controls.
