Job summary

Berkadia seeks a Senior Engineer, Machine Learning to advance Berkie and scale AI systems across commercial real estate operations. You will design and implement ML workflows, deploy models, and collaborate with product, engineering, architecture, and data teams to translate real-world problems into scalable AI solutions.

The role emphasizes hands-on coding in Python, cloud-based infrastructure, and ongoing learning in ML/GenAI to drive efficiency and revenue growth.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, with focus on Python.
• Experience building traditional ML models and generative AI systems.
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and MLOps practices.
• Experience with unstructured data transformation via ML.
• JavaScript experience is a plus.
• Experience with Agile methodologies and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain production-ready ML systems using generative and traditional techniques.
• Architect end-to-end AI solutions for IFP, agentic systems, and information retrieval.
• Develop Berkie, Berkadia’s generative AI platform, for data access and efficiency.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to translate problems into scalable AI solutions.
• Write maintainable code using Python and modern cloud infrastructure; use notebooks for experimentation.
• Establish and contribute to MLOps practices including deployment, monitoring, and observability.
• Participate in peer reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Document system designs and decisions to improve clarity and reproducibility.
• Stay up-to-date with ML and GenAI developments; continuous self-learning.
