Berkadia, a leader in commercial real estate, seeks a Senior Engineer, Machine Learning to advance Berkie and AI-driven solutions. You will design, implement, and scale production ML systems, collaborating with product, engineering, and data teams to convert complex problems into scalable AI applications.

The role emphasizes Python development, cloud-based ML pipelines, and ongoing learning to stay ahead in a fast-moving GenAI landscape.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of professional software development experience, with a focus on Python.
• Experience building traditional machine learning models (regression, classification, clustering) and generative AI systems (LLMs, retrieval augmented generation, prompt engineering).
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure and MLOps practices (deployment, monitoring, observability).
• Experience with unstructured and semi-structured data transformation into structured formats using machine learning.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement, and maintain production-ready machine learning systems using generative and traditional techniques.
• Architect end-to-end AI solutions for use cases like intelligent document processing, agentic systems, and information retrieval.
• Drive the continued development of Berkie, Berkadia’s generative AI platform, enabling access to proprietary data and boosting efficiency.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and data teams to translate problems into scalable AI solutions.
• Write maintainable, high-quality Python code and leverage modern cloud infrastructure; use notebooks for experimentation.
• Establish and contribute to best practices in MLOps including deployment, monitoring, and observability.
• Participate in peer reviews, design discussions, and knowledge-sharing sessions.
• Document system designs, decisions, and outcomes for clarity and reproducibility.
• Stay up to date with ML and GenAI developments; self-learning is essential.
• Take initiative and contribute with impact.
