Job summary

Rocket Lab's Optical Systems division seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer II to design, train, and deploy deep learning models for electro-optical image processing at our Tucson site. Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and 8+ years experience in CS/engineering or higher degrees.
• Experience building deep learning models for computer vision or image processing.
• Proficiency in Python and ML libraries (Keras, TensorFlow, PyTorch).
• US citizenship and ability to obtain US government security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Develop ML models for EO/IR image processing.
• Train, deploy and maintain ML models for Optical Systems applications.
• Build ML pipelines for data ingestion, feature engineering, training and inference.
• Collaborate with researchers and engineers on AI, ML and computer vision.
• Perform rapid prototyping and integration into operational systems.
• Troubleshoot and maintain existing and new systems.
• Stay current with ML research and evaluate new tools and techniques.
