Job summary

Waymo LLC is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer in Driver Refinement and Validation to bridge cutting-edge ML with real-world vehicle performance. You will own end-to-end ML features for scene understanding, from data collection to onboard deployment, and tackle long-tail failure modes using both real and simulated driving data.

• Advanced degree or equivalent practical experience.
• Experience shipping ML models to production and evaluating them.
• Strong data engineering and SQL skills for large-scale data.
• Production experience with Python and C++ is required.

Responsibilities

• Own ML features for Scene Understanding end to end: data → model → eval → onboard launch.
• Mine and curate large-scale driving data (real and simulated) for training and testing.
• Design, train, and iterate on multi-task model heads; improve calibration and generalization.
