Job summary

Waymo LLC seeks an Engineer for Driver Refinement and Validation to bridge cutting-edge ML with real-world vehicle performance. You will design validation and onboard systems ensuring autonomous driving safety and reliability.

You will develop ML-powered systems, fine-tune models for perception, motion prediction, and trajectory planning, and write robust production code. Collaborate with engineers and product managers to deliver dependable autonomous behaviors.

Qualifications

• MS in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Robotics, or related technical field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of industry experience deploying, evaluating, and maintaining ML-based systems in real-world environments.
• Proficient in Python and/or C++, with strong debugging abilities and production-grade code writing.

Responsibilities

• Develop next-generation, ML-powered systems for the ML driver and scalable production deployment.
• Fine-tune and benchmark state-of-the-art models to improve perception, prediction, and planning.
• Write high-quality, scalable production code for ML components.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to deliver safe, smooth autonomous vehicle behaviors.
