Job summary

Waymo LLC is seeking an Engineer in the Driver Refinement and Validation group to bridge ML research and real-world vehicle performance. You will develop ML-powered systems to enhance the Waymo Driver, fine-tune models for perception and planning, and contribute high-quality production code.

Requirements include a MS in a relevant field or equivalent experience, 3+ years in production ML, and proficiency in Python/C++.

Qualifications

• MS in CS, ML, Robotics, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
• 3+ years of industry experience deploying, evaluating, and maintaining ML-based systems in production.
• Proficient programming in Python and/or C++, with strong analytical and debugging abilities.
• Expertise with modern deep learning frameworks such as JAX or PyTorch.

Responsibilities

• Develop next-generation, ML-powered systems for autonomous driving.
• Fine-tune and benchmark generative models for perception, motion prediction, and planning.
• Write high-quality, scalable code to productionize ML models.
• Collaborate with engineers and product managers to deliver safe, smooth autonomous vehicle behaviors.
