Murata, a global leader in advanced electronic materials and components, seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to advance radar sensing products. You will design ML models for radar data, build end-to-end pipelines, and enable real-time deployment on embedded devices.

Requirements include a Master’s/PhD in a related field, 3+ years in ML, radar fundamentals, and Python with PyTorch or TensorFlow. This on-site role is based in San Diego, with after-hours support and a collaborative,

Qualifications

• Master’s or PhD in Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• 3+ years’ research experience in developing machine learning models and applied statistics.
• Strong understanding of radar fundamentals and signal processing concepts.
• Proficiency in Python and ML frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow; experience with data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop advanced ML models for radar signal processing.
• Evaluate novel ML and deep learning architectures for radar data.
• Develop end-to-end ML pipelines including data preprocessing, feature extraction, model training, validation, and optimization.
• Analyze and model radar data (time-domain, frequency-domain, range–Doppler, range–angle).
• Drive innovation by evaluating state-of-the-art ML techniques for radar-based detection, classification, and tracking.
• Optimize models for real-time and embedded deployment considering latency, memory, and power.
• Translate research outcomes into scalable, real-world algorithms.
• Support product development through validation, benchmarking, and documentation.
• Act as in-house mathematician/statistician with strong quantitative skills.
