Job summary

Apple Inc. is seeking a Staff / Senior Machine Learning Engineer for AI, Search & Knowledge Platforms in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will build scalable extraction and enrichment pipelines that transform web data into structured knowledge powering Siri, Spotlight, Safari and more.

You will apply NLP, entity linking, and ML models to improve data quality and grounding for Apple's foundation models. The role requires cloud-native experience, distributed systems, and hands-on work with

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
• 3+ years of software or ML engineering experience.
• Experience with Python, Java, Scala, or Go.
• Background in algorithms, data structures, and distributed systems.
• Experience with AWS and cloud-native environments.
• Experience with large-scale data processing (Spark, Cassandra).
• Experience with containerized environments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with ML workflows, including feature engineering, training, evaluation and deployment.

Responsibilities

• Build and optimize large-scale extraction and enrichment pipelines powering Apple experiences.
• Design pipelines using LLMs, NLP, and entity linking to deduplicate and contextualize web information.
• Optimize infrastructure for cost, throughput, and reliability including model serving.
• Develop ML classifiers for data quality, deduplication, and content filtering on billions of records.
• Improve extraction quality to support Apple foundation models and reasoning.
