Job summary

Cartesian Systems, a MIT-connected startup in Kendall Square, Cambridge, seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to own ML problems end-to-end—from data framing to production monitoring—across hundreds of live stores and help shape the product's technical roadmap.

You will partner with applied scientists to deploy deep learning models for indoor positioning and item localization, optimize pipelines for accuracy and latency, and contribute to a high-impact retail tech platform in a fast-paced

Qualifications

• 5+ years of applied ML experience with at least one system shipped.
• Strong fundamentals in ML, embeddings, representations, and evaluation metrics.
• Ability to write production-grade Python and demonstrate solid software engineering practices.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, deploy, and monitor deep learning models for indoor positioning and item localization, owning problems end-to-end.
• Build and optimize training, inference, and evaluation pipelines for production readiness.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to prioritize features and ship to enterprise customers.
• Raise engineering quality through reusable infrastructure and robust architecture choices.
