Job summary

Uber Technologies Inc. is seeking a Senior Machine Learning Engineer for the Deliverability team to design, productionize, and scale ML systems powering Uber Eats delivery zones worldwide.

You will architect high-throughput ML models, build end-to-end pipelines, and collaborate with Product, Data Science, Operations, and Infra to optimize coverage, balance throughput, and improve marketplace metrics. Qualifications

• 5+ years hands-on experience designing, training, and operating production ML models at scale.
• Analytical mindset with ability to derive insights from complex data distributions to drive decisions.
• Advanced proficiency in Python and mainstream ML frameworks.
• Strong foundation in ML algorithms including gradient-boosted trees, deep networks, and statistical modeling.
• Experience taking ML systems end-to-end from problem framing to production deployment.
• Experience building automated feature pipelines, feature stores, model monitoring, and online A/B testing in production.

Responsibilities

• Architect and translate marketplace challenges into high-throughput ML solutions for delivery zone optimization.
• Design, train, and refine state-of-the-art models that optimize merchant coverage and marketplace metrics.
• Engineer, deploy, and operate scalable ML inference pipelines and model serving infrastructure.
• Lead data-driven investigations to diagnose marketplace inefficiencies and run online experiments.
• Collaborate with Product Management, Data Science, Operations, and Core Infrastructure to align roadmaps and ML standards.
