Job summary

Uber is seeking a senior machine learning engineer for the Maps Optimization team. You will design, build, and optimize large-scale ML systems powering Uber’s maps, routes, and ETA calculations across millions of trips worldwide.

You will own end-to-end models and infrastructure, deploy high-throughput prediction services, and collaborate with product, data science, and engineering teams to deliver robust, scalable solutions.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in ML or 2+ years with PhD
• Experience building and scaling distributed ML pipelines
• Experience with Spark, Hive, Presto, Michelangelo
• Proficiency in Java/Scala/Golang and Python/shell
• Experience leading projects and teams
• Bachelor's degree or equivalent

Responsibilities

• Develop and deploy end-to-end ML models and infrastructure to optimize Uber map related applications
• Design and maintain high-throughput, low-latency prediction systems and APIs handling hundreds of billions of daily requests
• Explore novel ideas towards improving Uber's logistical efficiency across its product verticals
• Partner with product managers, scientists, designers, and engineers to develop holistic solutions to real world problems
