Job summary

Velo3D is seeking a machine learning engineer to kickstart efforts to predict printability of complex CAD geometries. You will organize data and develop ML models on geometric data, collaborating with process, preprint and applications teams.

The role involves building models, defining data workflows, and deploying models into production, with a competitive salary and strong benefits.

Qualifications

• Experience with machine learning pipelines particularly on geometric data.
• Experience working in a production software engineering environment.
• Strong programming skills in Python or C++.
• Experience with powder bed fusion manufacturing (preferred).
• Knowledge of manufacturing data workflows, IoT sensor data, or industrial automation systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Build a printability model: develop ML models using image, thermal, simulation and other sensors to predict printability of complex CAD models.
• Help define data collection processes: design, develop, and maintain databases supporting data ingestion, storage, and retrieval from diverse data streams.
• Deploy models into production: collaborate with preprint team to deploy models in production.
