Job summary

Okta’s Secures AI team is seeking a Principal ML Engineer to advance our authorization capabilities for agent-based AI. You will replace static rules with dynamic AI security, delivering real-time threat inspection, intent evaluation, and behavioral analysis to keep autonomous agents safe.

You will architect the unified control plane for the Identity Security Fabric, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product teams to scale AI securely.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s in CS or related field.
• 10+ years of software development experience.
• Experience with AI agents and security.

Responsibilities

• Implement real-time threat inspection and agent intent evaluation.
• Integrate AI-based security into API gateway and authorization flow.
• Architect scalable ML and Generative AI systems with retrieval, inference, and evaluation pipelines.
• Mentor engineers and collaborate with product teams to drive greenfield initiatives forward.
