Job summary

Okta is seeking a Staff Product Security Engineer responsible for safeguarding its products through comprehensive security reviews and guiding engineering teams in secure development practices. Candidates should possess expertise in authentication protocols and a deep technical understanding of AI-integrated software architectures.

The ideal candidate will engage in code reviews and penetration testing to ensure strong security across Okta's platforms. This role also includes mentoring junior engineers and representing Okta in external security research.

Qualifications

• Deep understanding of authentication & authorization protocols.
• Ability to automate security testing using LLMs and scripting.
• Experience leading security incidents and risk assessments.

Responsibilities

• Conduct security reviews, including design and penetration testing.
• Perform manual secure code reviews across multiple languages.
• Identify and mitigate security vulnerabilities for the team.
• Develop security tools and automation to improve processes.
• Mentor junior engineers on secure development practices.

Skills

Expertise in OWASP Top 10 / CWE Top 25

Penetration testing experience

Deep technical background in assessing LLMs

Proficiency in Java, Go, Python, C/C++

Strong communication skills
