Palo Alto Networks is seeking a Principal Software Engineer to lead the design and delivery of next-generation cloud security solutions. You will drive scalable architecture, manage the ML lifecycle, and collaborate across teams to deliver secure, high‑quality services.

The role requires deep experience in cloud-native SaaS, strong ML expertise, and hands-on coding with modern languages, plus IaC and MLOps know-how. Hybrid work and competitive compensation are offered.

Qualifications

10+ years of software development experience focused on cloud-native and SaaS apps.
Experience designing large-scale distributed systems on AWS, GCP, or Azure.
Strong knowledge of the full ML lifecycle, including deployment and MLOps.
Proficiency in Python, Go, or Java.
Experience with IaC tools such as Terraform or CloudFormation.
Bachelor's degree in CS/Engineering or equivalent practical experience.

Responsibilities

Provide technical leadership for end-to-end solution delivery, collaborating with cross‑functional teams.
Drive scalable cloud security architecture through a balance of planning and hands‑on coding.
Establish and evangelize best practices for model versioning, reproducibility, auditing, and privacy.
Architect and lead the ML lifecycle, from development to production inference.
Build and maintain automated CI/CD and monitoring for backend and ML components.
Continuously evaluate and integrate cutting‑edge MLOps tools to enhance scalability.
Design robust, next‑generation cloud security solutions to resolve backend/ML challenges.
Strategically manage ML infrastructure and pipelines to improve performance and reduce costs.
