Northrop Grumman Aeronautics Systems is seeking a Principal/Sr. Principal Electronics Engineer - Mission Systems for on-site work in El Segundo, CA or San Diego (Rancho Bernardo), CA. The role focuses on designing mission systems baselines and leading analyses to meet complex platform requirements.

The candidate will decompose requirements, track metrics, and maintain strong customer and supplier relationships while working in a fast-paced, on-site team environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of related professional/military Engineering experience; or Master's with 3 years; or PhD with 1 year.
• Senior level requires 8 years with Bachelor’s, 6 years with Master’s, or 4 years with PhD.

Responsibilities

• Design mission systems baselines (subsystems, components, software) to meet platform requirements.
• Lead trade studies, analysis, modeling & simulation, and risk management.
• Decompose system requirements and report metrics to customers and leadership.
• Engage with customers and suppliers to translate requirements into deployable products.
• Collaborate across DoD programs to shape architecture and interfaces.
