Job summary

Firefly Aerospace seeks an experienced Mission Manager to oversee payload integration, launch vehicle interfaces, and customer mission coordination for lunar and orbital programs. You will serve as the primary interface between Firefly’s engineering teams and NASA or payload customers, guiding requirements and interface control activities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in aerospace engineering or related field.
• 3+ years’ experience in the aerospace industry.
• Experience integrating payloads onto spacecraft or spacecraft to launch vehicles.
• Experience interfacing with external customers or internal product teams.
• Familiarity with aerospace qualification and acceptance testing (GEVS / related standards).

Responsibilities

• Act as the primary interface between Firefly engineering teams and NASA or payload customers.
• Manage development and coordination of mission performance and interface requirements.
• Create and maintain Interface Control Documents (ICD) for payload/interfaces.
• Oversee issues related to form, fit, and function of payloads, loads, and interfaces.
• Coordinate hardware/software activities including fit checks, integration, and launch planning.
• Lead technical interchange meetings and design reviews with customers; travel may be required (<10%).
• Collaborate across disciplines to approve safety analyses and test plans meeting requirements.
