Job summary

Firefly Aerospace, based in north Austin, TX, seeks a Mission Operations Engineer II to scale multi-manifested lunar missions. You will own ground-system architecture and flight-operations products, bridging subsystem teams with real-time execution from planning through simulations.

You will join a team delivering robust procedures, automation scripts, and end-to-end mission support in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• 3 to 7 years in spacecraft operations, flight/ground software, or systems engineering.
• Proven experience supporting at least one live mission on-console (LEO, GEO, or Deep Space).
• Experience authoring flight procedures, telemetry displays, and mission sequencing scripts.
• SME in at least one subsystem for ground or space segment.
• Bachelor's degree in Aerospace Engineering or related discipline.
• Experience with long-duration or complex missions and government environments.
• US security clearance (Secret or higher) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Derive and maintain operational requirements for ground segment capabilities.
• Lead integration and validation of ground segment tools and data pipelines.
• Plan and execute Ground Readiness Tests and end-to-end mission scenarios.
• Coordinate tasks with ground services, IT, cyber, flight dynamics, and ground software teams.
• Write ConOps and procedures for spacecraft subsystems and automation scripts.
• Lead cross-functional working groups to mature procedures across missions.
