Job summary

Firefly Aerospace, based in Austin, Texas, seeks a Mission Operations Engineer II to scale operations for complex, multi-manifested lunar missions. You will own the operational framework from ground system architecture to flight operations products enabling lunar landings.

You will bridge spacecraft subsystems and execution, guiding the mission from initial planning through testing and simulations to console execution during critical events.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years in spacecraft operations, flight/ground software, or systems engineering.
• Proven experience supporting at least one live mission on-console (LEO, GEO, or Deep Space).
• Ability to author flight procedures, telemetry displays, and mission-sequencing scripts.
• SME in at least one spacecraft subsystem for ground or space segment.

Responsibilities

• Derive and maintain operational requirements for ground segment capabilities.
• Lead integration and validation of ground segment tools and data pipelines.
• Plan and execute Ground Readiness Tests and end-to-end mission scenarios.
• Coordinate tasks with ground service providers, IT, cyber, flight dynamics, and ground software.
