Job summary

Clayco in Charlotte seeks a seasoned Construction Manager to lead on-site construction activities for mission-critical projects valued at $100M–$500M+. You will supervise field operations, manage subcontractors, ensure safety compliance, and coordinate with project teams to meet schedule and budget targets.

Experience with data centers or mission-critical facilities, BIM coordination, and utility relocations is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's Degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, related technical degree or relevant work experience in lieu of education.
• 20–25 years of relevant experience with progressive responsibility and technical knowledge of project scope and value.
• OSHA 30 required.
• Ability to walk job site, climb ladders, and multi-floor scaffolding.
• Experience coordinating utilities, BIM coordination, and field procurement.

Responsibilities

• Organize and direct all on-site construction activities and serve as primary contact for field operations.
• Ensure construction is in compliance with design, specs, and quality standards; manage schedule and budget.
• Manage subcontractors, field engineering, contract administration, cost, schedule, and reporting.
• Develop and implement safety, environmental, and site rules; enforce safety programs and compliance.
• Coordinate with project management to maintain client relationships and provide periodic field updates.
• Support supervision, review project schedules, and document field issues impacting budget, quality, or schedule.
• Assist in contracts and subcontract negotiations and implementation of training programs.
