Job summary

Peabody is seeking a Mining Engineering Professional for senior responsibilities in Wright, WY. You will develop and communicate mine plans within the pit region and collect volumetrics for month-end reporting and budgeting.

The role emphasizes accuracy in surveying data, design of mine plans, and timely data gathering for planning and compliance. The position requires 5–7 years in mining surveying/engineering, a bachelor’s degree in a related field, and proficiency with AutoCAD/SurvCadd,

Qualifications

Must have strong math skills for survey and volumetric calculations.
Experience using survey data to map mine operations.
Proficiency with AutoCAD/SurvCadd, Word and Excel; Vulcan experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Develop and maintain mine plans, maps, and related data.
Design mine plans including dragline, dozer pad, topsoil limits, and grade files.
Gather and record production and engineering data accurately.
Develop schedules to meet coal shipment targets.
Create reclamation designs to restore land post-mine.
Assist Engineering on special projects as needed.
Perform engineering volumetrics and short to mid-range planning.
Conduct monthly safety observations and audits.
Other duties as assigned by the Company.
