Job summary

Energy Talent Search is actively recruiting a Senior Mining Engineer for a leading Denver-based mining operator. You will lead mine planning, design, and cross-functional initiatives to optimize production while mentoring junior engineers.

The role requires 7–12 years of experience, strong regulatory knowledge, and expertise with Vulcan, Surpac, Deswik, and MineSched. Based in Denver, CO, with site visits to mines as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Mining Engineering or related field (Master’s preferred).
• 7–12 years of progressive mining engineering experience, with strong mine planning background.
• Proficiency with mine design and scheduling software (Vulcan, Surpac, Deswik, MineSched).
• Knowledge of drilling, blasting, and equipment selection.
• PE license in Colorado preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

• Develop and oversee detailed mine plans for short-term, mid-term, and life-of-mine schedules.
• Provide technical support to operations teams to ensure safe, efficient execution of plans.
• Analyze production data and geologic models to improve recovery and reduce costs.
• Ensure compliance with MSHA, OSHA, and environmental regulations.
