Job summary

Kinross Gold Corporation in Washington State seeks a Senior Geologist to lead a team of mine geologists and drilling operations in an active underground production environment.

You will oversee data systems, geological modeling, and reporting to support safe, efficient decision-making and continuous improvement across geology and operations. A Geology or Geological Engineering degree and US work authorization are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Geology or Geological Engineering required.
• 5–8 years minimum experience in geology within mining; underground mine experience required.
• Experience collecting geological field data, underground mapping and sampling preferred.
• Previous managerial experience strongly preferred.
• Ability to compile, interpret and analyze geologic and assay data for decisions.
• Experience managing geological drilling programs and contracts.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and data interpretation skills.
• Excellent technical writing and communication abilities; capable of cross-team communication.
• Leadership and mentoring abilities with focus on safety and continuous improvement.
• Strong project management and organizational skills; able to work independently or in a team.
• Valid driver's license and US work authorization.

Responsibilities

• Lead day-to-day activities for production geology and mine-exploration groups.
• Develop, implement and maintain geological operating and sampling procedures.
• Project manager for active drilling operations related to production geology and exploration.
• Prepare technical reports, models and recommendations for decisions.
• Update grade control mineral inventory and geological models.
• Design drilling programs for exploration and grade control.
• Collect field data and integrate with digital models.
• Mentor geology team members and ensure safety and excellence.
• Provide geological reports to inform mine design and operations.
