Job summary

GeoSystems Analysis, Inc., a Trinity Consultants team, is seeking an experienced Project Manager specializing in mine closure. You will oversee planning, execution, and delivery of closure projects across the US and worldwide, ensuring high technical quality, financial performance, and effective team coordination.

Responsibilities include leading tailings and waste rock closure projects, modeling mine water balance, and developing restoration strategies.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in a relevant field (e.g., geosciences, mining, civil engineering).
• 10+ years of progressive mine closure consulting experience.
• Strong project and financial management capabilities.
• Experience using ArcGIS and Microsoft software.
• Ability to coordinate cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
• Ability to identify, manage, and communicate project risks and changes.
• Ability to produce and guide development of technically sound deliverables.
• Fluency in Spanish (written and spoken) is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Lead tailings, heap leach and waste rock facility closure projects, including reclamation and cover systems.
• Provide technical guidance on mine water balance modeling for tailings and draindown.
• Design and manage characterization studies for waste rock and tailings properties.
• Develop revegetation and ecosystem restoration strategies for mine sites.
• Oversee post-closure monitoring programs and QA/QC procedures.
• Maintain project communication with internal teams, clients and leadership.
• Prepare budgets, scopes of work, proposals, study designs and timelines.
• Monitor labor and expenses weekly and manage deviations.
• Mentor project staff to ensure quality and consistency.
