AMBSIMS & Associates Corp in Rockford, IL is seeking a Powder Metal Applications Engineer to drive growth in MIM components from design to production. You will bridge customers, the Commercial Sales Team, and the Product Launch Team to win new business and ensure smooth launches.

You will lead engineering quotations, DFx, prototype samples, and APQP activities through Gate 1 to production readiness, while expanding market opportunities for MIM across applicable industries.

Qualifikationen

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Materials or Metallurgical Engineering or equivalent
• 5+ years as Applications, Product or Design Engineer in MIM or PM
• Proficiency with 3D CAD (SolidWorks/Creo/NX) and reading engineering drawings
• Working knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis
• Experience building cost estimates or quotations for manufactured components
• Familiarity with APQP, PPAP and new product launch processes
• Strong communication, organization and project management skills

Aufgaben

• Develop engineering quotations for new MIM components including materials, operations, costs, tooling and equipment
• Review designs for manufacturability and produce marked-up prints and CAD models for tooling and molding
• Lead manufacture of engineering samples and ensure on-time delivery coordinating with tooling, molding and sintering
• Lead customer technical discussions on design, materials, tolerances and cost
• Lead APQP team through Gate 1 and participate through Gate 5, supporting PPAP and production readiness
• Identify new applications and markets for MIM and support Sales in customer presentations and trade shows
• Perform other related duties as assigned
