Job summary

Packaging Corporation of America seeks a Maintenance Mechanic for our Gladstone, VA Riverville Mill. You will perform preventive maintenance and repairs on plant machinery, read schematics, and troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.

The role requires 5–10 years of related experience and a technical degree or equivalent. Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems is a plus, and safety and Lean Manufacturing practices are emphasized.

Qualifications

• 5-10 years of relevant work experience.
• Technical degree and/or comparable experience in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery and equipment; within corrugated/packaging industry preferred.
• Familiarity with instrumentation and control systems (preferred).

Responsibilities

• Perform preventive maintenance and repairs on manufacturing equipment and systems according to procedures.
• Ensure reliability by completing preventive maintenance on machinery and systems.
• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, pneumatic and hydraulic systems.
• Read and interpret manuals, diagrams, sketches, and work orders to perform maintenance.
• Use hand tools and measuring instruments to verify dimensional changes.
• Assemble, install, adjust, calibrate, and, if needed, dismantle and replace equipment.
