Job summary

Merritt is seeking a skilled Millwork Estimator to join our growing team in Mentor, OH. The ideal candidate will analyze drawings, project specifications, and vendor quotes to produce accurate cost projections for custom millwork, cabinetry, and trim.

You will collaborate with design, production, and sales teams, ensuring bids are competitive and projects meet budget and timeline. Excellent attention to detail and strong communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 10 years of experience in millwork, cabinetry, or construction estimating.
• Proficient in reading and interpreting architectural drawings and technical specifications.
• Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and numerical accuracy.
• Proficiency in PlanSwift, Bluebeam, or other industry-standard take-off software.
• Advanced skills in Microsoft Excel.
• Effective written and verbal communication with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Review architectural drawings, blueprints, and project specifications to determine millwork requirements (e.g., cabinetry, paneling, trim)
• Accurately estimate materials, labor, and associated costs for custom woodwork projects
• Prepare clear, detailed, and competitive quotes and bids for clients, contractors, and internal teams
• Source and negotiate pricing from vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective solutions
• Collaborate with project managers and production teams to ensure projects stay within budget and timeline
• Revise estimates as project scopes change or new information becomes available
