Job summary
AlphaX in Naples, FL seeks a Senior Architectural Millwork Engineer to lead technical design and engineering of luxury millwork from concept to installation. You will translate architectural plans and field measurements into production-ready drawings and packages.
Ideal candidates have 7+ years in architectural millwork or luxury interiors, with strong CAD drafting skills (AutoCAD, Microvellum, Cabinet Vision, Rhino) and experience mentoring engineers.
Qualifications
- 7+ years of experience in architectural millwork engineering, millwork drafting, or technical design.
- Experience with custom cabinetry and luxury residential interiors.
- Strong knowledge of CNC manufacturing, woodworking machinery, fabrication methods, and production workflows.
- Ability to produce detailed, production-ready shop drawings and fabrication documentation.
- Experience mentoring engineers or drafters and leading technical teams.
Responsibilities
- Lead the engineering and technical development of custom millwork from design to installation.
- Prepare, review, and approve detailed shop drawings, BOMs, cut lists, and production documentation.
- Interpret architectural plans and field measurements to develop accurate engineering packages.
- Engineer cabinetry, closets, wall paneling, countertops, and specialty millwork.
- Evaluate designs for manufacturability and material/hardware compatibility.
- Collaborate with project teams to ensure technical accuracy and alignment.
- Identify and resolve design conflicts before production begins.
- Support CNC programming, nesting optimization, and production planning.
- Maintain engineering records and ensure compliance with drafting standards.
- Provide mentorship to junior engineers and drafters.
- Support quality control during fabrication and installation.
- Develop practical engineering solutions for complex millwork.
