Job summary

Iron Oaks LLC in Brooklyn seeks a Senior Millwork Drafter for a full-time on-site role serving the New York City metropolitan area. You will produce detailed millwork shop drawings and construction documents, translating design intent into precise, buildable plans for luxury residential and commercial projects.

Day-to-day duties include reviewing drawings, coordinating with project managers, designers, and fabricators, and resolving technical details related to joinery, materials, and hardware.

Qualifications

• Strong skills in Architecture and Construction Drawings to interpret design intent and produce accurate millwork documentation.
• Experience in Space Planning and Interior Design to develop functional, aesthetically aligned millwork solutions.
• Knowledge of FF&E to coordinate materials, finishes, and hardware with project requirements.
• Proficiency in CAD and/or BIM software (AutoCAD, Revit) and familiarity with millwork fabrication methods.
• Excellent attention to detail, dimensional accuracy, reading and redlining plans.
• Strong communication and collaboration with designers, project managers, and shop personnel on-site.
• Several years of experience in millwork drafting for high-end residential or commercial projects.

Responsibilities

Role Description

The Senior Millwork Drafter is a full-time, on-site role based in the New York City Metropolitan Area. This role is responsible for producing detailed millwork shop drawings and construction documents for luxury residential and commercial projects, translating design intent into precise, buildable plans. Day-to-day tasks include reviewing architectural and interior design drawings, coordinating with project managers, designers, and fabricators, and resolving technical details related to joinery, materials, and hardware. The Senior Millwork Drafter will optimize space usage, ensure accurate dimensions and specifications, and support the fabrication team with clear documentation and revisions. This role also involves maintaining drawing standards, adhering to project schedules, and contributing to continuous improvement of drafting processes.

• Strong communication and collaboration skills for working with designers, project managers, and shop personnel on-site.
• Several years of experience in millwork drafting for high-end residential or commercial projects; experience in luxury or bespoke work is highly beneficial.
• Relevant technical diploma or degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Drafting, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
