Shield AI seeks a Senior Recruiter for Military & SkillBridge Programs to build pipelines of transitioning service members and veterans. You will own the DoW SkillBridge fellowship end to end, aligning it with hiring needs and conversion to full-time roles across engineering, flight operations, and program teams.

You will partner with HR, Legal, and Security to ensure compliant onboarding, translate military experience to civilian roles, and drive outreach through veteran-focused organizations

Qualifications

• 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with at least 2 years recruiting veteran or transitioning military talent.
• Hands-on experience with DoW SkillBridge, Hiring Our Heroes, or comparable military fellowship programs.
• Experience translating military backgrounds into civilian role fit and leveling.

Shield AI is hiring a Senior Recruiter, Military & SkillBridge Programs, to build and run our pipeline of transitioning service members and veterans. You will own the DoW SkillBridge fellowship experience from intake through conversion, build pipelines of military talent into full-time roles across engineering, flight operations, field support, and program teams, and make Shield AI the employer of choice for service members moving into civilian careers.

What you'll do:

• Own Shield AI's DoW SkillBridge and military fellowship programs end to end, including intake, eligibility tracking, team matching, onboarding, and check-ins through the fellowship
• Partner with HR, Legal, and Security to keep onboarding, access, and documentation compliant for participants who remain on active duty
• Drive fellow-to-full-time conversion by partnering with hiring managers on fit and headcount, and plan offers ahead of separation dates
• Help hiring managers translate military experience, ratings, and qualifications into role fit and leveling
• Build relationships with transition assistance programs, base career offices, SkillBridge intermediaries, and veteran-focused organizations
• Represent Shield AI at military hiring events, transition fairs, and on-base engagements
• Track and report fellow volume, conversion rates, time to hire, and source effectiveness, and use the data to improve the program

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of full-cycle recruiting experience, with at least 2 years recruiting veteran or transitioning military talent
• Hands-on experience with DoW SkillBridge, Hiring Our Heroes, or comparable military fellowship programs
• Working knowledge of military career paths, ratings, and qualifications, and how they translate to civilian roles
• Experience partnering with HR, Legal, or Security on compliance-sensitive hiring workflows
• Strong organizational skills and comfort managing rolling start dates and individual candidate timelines
• Proficiency with an ATS and reporting on pipeline and conversion metrics
• Excellent written and verbal communication; you represent Shield AI credibly to service members, transition offices, and hiring leaders
• Willingness to travel for military hiring events and on-base engagements

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior military service or a military spouse/family background
• Experience recruiting in defense, aerospace, AI, or robotics
• Experience recruiting candidates who hold or are eligible for security clearances
• Familiarity with export control (ITAR/EAR) and work authorization requirements in defense hiring
• Existing relationships with base transition offices, SkillBridge intermediaries, or veteran service organizations

$120,000 - $216,000 a year

Seattle and San Mateo Range: $144,000 - $216,000

All other locations range: $120,000 - $180,000

Full-time regular employee offer package:

Pay within range listed + Bonus + Benefits + Equity

Temporary employee offer package:

Pay within range listed above + temporary benefits package (applicable after 60 days of employment)

Salary compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location. All offers are contingent on a cleared background and possible reference check. Military fellows and part-time employees are not eligible for benefits.
