Shield AI is seeking an on-site Internal Communications Partner to lead enterprise-wide communications for priorities and organizational change. You will craft plans, write and edit messages, and coordinate with senior leaders to ensure clear, timely communication across channels.

The role requires strong writing, project management, and cross-functional collaboration in a fast-moving tech environment. Office locations include CA and other U.S. sites.

Qualifications

  • 5–7 years in internal, change, or corporate communications or related field.
  • Excellent writing, copy-editing, and presentation development with attention to detail.
  • Experience in acquisitions, integrations, or large-scale organizational changes.

Responsibilities

  • Plan and deliver communications for change initiatives, including M&A and integration activity.
  • Write and edit employee communications across channels (announcements, FAQs, toolkits, intranet).
  • Turn complex information into clear messages and anticipate questions and concerns.
  • Manage communications plans, calendars, reviews, and delivery timelines.
  • Partner with senior leaders to align messaging and channels across audiences.
  • Support leadership communications with meetings, talking points, and presentations.
  • Identify risks and employee impacts; propose solutions and escalate when needed.
  • Gather employee feedback to refine messaging.

Job Description:

Shield AI is seeking an on-site Internal Communications Partner to lead communications for enterprise priorities, organizational change, and ongoing employee communications. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Internal Communications, this hands-on role will develop and execute communication plans that help employees understand company priorities, changes affecting their work, and the actions they need to take. The ideal candidate is an exceptional writer, editor, project manager, and communications partner who can manage multiple workstreams, anticipate employee questions, and bring structure and high judgment to a fast-moving environment.

What you'll do:
  • Plan and deliver communications for assigned change initiatives, including Mergers and Acquisitions (M&A) and integration activity, organizational changes, and People programs.
  • Write and edit employee communications across channels, including announcements, FAQs, talking points, manager toolkits, presentations, intranet news, and Teams communications.
  • Turn complex or incomplete information into clear communications that explain what is changing and anticipate questions, concerns, and points of confusion.
  • Manage communications plans, calendars, project trackers, reviews, approvals, and delivery timelines across multiple projects.
  • Partner with senior leaders and cross-functional teams to align messaging, timing, audiences, and delivery channels.
  • Support leadership communications as assigned, including company meetings, leadership updates, talking points, presentations, and announcements.
  • Flag communications risks and employee-impacts early; recommend solutions and elevate issues as appropriate.
  • Gather and synthesize employee feedback and sentiment to inform message refinement.
Required qualifications:
  • 5–7 years of experience in internal, change, or corporate communications, or a related field.
  • Excellent writing, copy-editing, and presentation-development skills, with close attention to detail.
  • Experience developing communications for acquisitions, integrations, organizational change, technology transformation, People programs, or other large-scale business changes.
  • Demonstrated experience managing communications plans, timelines, stakeholders, reviews, and deliverables across multiple projects.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Sound judgment and discretion when handling confidential or sensitive information.
Preferred qualifications:
  • Experience partnering with senior leaders and presenting communications plans, recommendations, or materials to executive audiences.
  • Experience developing employee communications that explain change clearly, answer expected questions, and build trust through transparency.
  • Experience with Microsoft 365, including PowerPoint, Word, Excel, Teams, and SharePoint, plus collaboration or project-management tools.
  • Experience working in a high-growth technology, aerospace, defense, or other complex and regulated environment.

Compensation range for in-office San Mateo, CA is $121K -$187K

Compensation for our Dallas, DC or San Diego offices are below.

$110,000 - $170,000 a year

Full-time regular employee offer package:
  • Pay within range listed + Bonus + Benefits + Equity
Temporary employee offer package:
  • Pay within range listed above + temporary benefits package (applicable after 60 days of employment)

Salary compensation is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, licenses and certifications, and specific work location. All offers are contingent on a cleared background and possible reference check. Military fellows and part-time employees are not eligible for benefits.
