Job summary

The National Institutes of Health (DOHHS) seeks a Supervisory Human Resources Specialist (Military) for the Navy Pay and Personnel Support Center (NPPSC) within TSC Great Lakes. Location is Great Lakes Naval Training Center, IL, with ad-hoc telework eligibility and relocation expenses reimbursed. Salary ranges from $100,059 to $130,080 per year.

GS-12 with promotion potential. Occasional travel and permanent appointment.

Qualifications

• Specialized experience at GS-11 or equivalent in federal service or private/public sector, applying HR concepts and pay systems.
• Conducting management studies to identify issues and recommend solutions.
• Using automated systems to research, analyze, and process military pay and personnel transactions.
• Guidance to junior employees on military pay and entitlements.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical advice and guidance on military personnel and pay systems to subordinate and serviced commands.
• Prepare and conduct briefings and presentations to leadership on personnel and pay systems.
• Manage personnel staffing functions and workflows for organizational effectiveness.
• Review statistics, monitor data, and analyze trends to identify improvement opportunities.
