Job summary

SURGE Staffing is seeking a Welder – MIG / Metal Fabrication in Delta, Ohio. The role involves setting up and operating welding equipment, preparing metal components, and delivering quality welds that meet production and safety standards.

The ideal candidate has MIG welding experience, strong blueprint reading skills, and familiarity with measuring tools. The position requires the ability to read blueprints, follow work orders, and operate various welding equipment in a fast-paced manufacturing

Qualifications

• Previous welding experience required.
• 5+ years of welding experience preferred.
• 3+ years of MIG welding experience preferred.
• Experience operating MIG, TIG, resistance, or other welding equipment.
• Ability to read and follow blueprints, work orders, and welding specifications.
• Basic understanding of welding processes, equipment, and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, work orders, and welding specifications.
• Measure and lay out materials according to production requirements.
• Determine the appropriate welding equipment and methods for each application.
• Set up and position components for welding according to specifications.
• Cut and prepare materials using powered saws and other equipment.
• Operate angle grinders to prepare parts for welding.
• Align and secure components using clamps, calipers, rulers, and other measuring tools.
• Operate MIG, TIG, or resistance welding equipment as required.
• Perform welds in various positions, including vertical, horizontal, and overhead.
• Repair machinery, metal components, and structures by welding pieces and filling gaps.
• Inspect welded surfaces and finished components for defects and quality issues.
• Monitor welding equipment and report equipment or production issues to supervisors.
• Maintain welding equipment and ensure it remains in safe operating condition.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
• Follow all company safety procedures, including proper PPE and lockout/tagout procedures when required.
• Work efficiently to support production goals and maintain workflow.
