Job summary

ExtraHop Networks, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Cloud to own the design, delivery, and operation of critical cloud services.

You will drive architectural decisions, partner with security and product teams, and lead complex initiatives end-to-end in a fast-growing environment. The role emphasizes reliability, security, and scalability with hands-on leadership in cloud infrastructure, DevOps, and secure-by-design principles across distributed systems.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
• 6–8+ years of software engineering experience with cloud infrastructure
• Proven ability to design, build, and operate production-grade systems at scale
• Strong proficiency in Go, Python, or similar languages
• Deep expertise in Kubernetes and infrastructure-as-code (Terraform, Helm)
• Strong experience with AWS services (EKS, EC2, RDS, S3, SQS, IAM)
• Demonstrated ownership of systems, including on-call and incident response
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• U.S. citizenship, permanent resident, or eligible to work in the U.S.

Responsibilities

• Own the architecture, development, and operation of scalable, secure, and fault-tolerant cloud services in production.
• Drive technical design and architectural decisions for distributed systems, influencing patterns and standards.
• Lead complex initiatives end-to-end from design through deployment and ongoing optimization.
• Build and scale cloud infrastructure using Terraform, Helm, and Kubernetes.
• Advance cloud security, IAM controls, and encryption across the platform.
• Improve observability, monitoring, and incident response strategies.
• Drive DevOps maturity with CI/CD pipelines and deployment strategies.
• Collaborate with engineering, product, and security teams to resolve system-level challenges.
• Mentor engineers, provide technical direction, and raise engineering quality.
