Job summary

Figure is an AI robotics company based in San Jose, CA, seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join the Middleware Productivity team. You will design and build the core framework and infrastructure the robot runs on, and collaborate with client teams to understand usage and pain points.

Requirements include 7+ years of production C++ experience, Modern C++20+, Python familiarity, and hands-on work with embedded systems and kernel/userspace interfaces.

Qualifications

• At least 7 years of experience building production software in C++.
• Mastery of Modern C++ (>20).
• Familiarity with Python.
• Experience working on embedded systems and timing sensitive environments.
• Intimate understanding of the interface between the Linux kernel and userspace applications.
• Passion for developing well tested frameworks and infrastructure that just works day in and day out for years to come.
• Motivated by working directly with other teams to understand their needs.

Responsibilities

• Design and build the core framework and infrastructure the robot runs on.
• Work directly with client teams to understand how they use it and where it gets in their way.
• Turn that understanding into better abstractions and tooling.
