Job summary

Truist is seeking a Senior Portfolio Manager for the Middle Market, responsible for independent underwriting, structuring, and ongoing portfolio management of complex sponsor-owned and leveraged middle market credit relationships. This role supports new originations and manages existing relationships across acquisition financing, recapitalizations, refinancings, upsizes, amendments, and waivers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Finance or related field.
• 7–10+ years of middle market credit, underwriting, leveraged finance, sponsor finance, and portfolio management experience.
• Strong MS Office skills and financial statement analysis.

Responsibilities

• Lead complex underwriting processes and structure transactions.
• Manage assigned portfolio with risk monitoring and remediation.
• Proactively expand client relationships and cross-sell credit solutions.
• Partner with Investment Banking for financing solutions and stay informed on market trends.
• Mentor junior PMs and manage deal teams.
• Oversee risk rating integrity, annual reviews, and regulatory compliance.
• Provide independent risk recommendations and obtain final risk approval.
• Understand and articulate industry trends and cross-functional impacts.
• Lead program/portfolio management efforts beyond day-to-day duties.
• Deliver solid credit and underwriting analyses highlighting key risk drivers.
