Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or 5+ years of related experience.
• 5–10 years of Workers Compensation underwriting or related insurance experience.
• Experience underwriting risk for construction, hospitality, real estate, manufacturing.
• CPCU, CIC, CRIS, Property & Casualty licenses, etc. a plus.
• Strong customer service experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and industry-specific software.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to underwriting guidelines and pricing strategies to maintain profitability.
• Approve or decline applications within limits and prepare referrals for higher risk.
• Review risk characteristics on applications, renewals, and change requests.
• Ensure underwriting activities comply with regulations.
• Document underwriting files with risk analysis and pricing justification.
• Collaborate with producers to achieve production goals.
• Utilize databases and pricing tools to verify data and price accurately.
• Respond to client needs with guidance tailored to their insurance needs.
• Process accounts from quotes to policy issuance with accuracy.
