Job summary

RemoteLeads seeks a seasoned Purview and data protection specialist to run and optimize the client’s Microsoft Purview environment. You will build label taxonomies, configure auto-labeling, and deploy classification policies across Microsoft 365 services and endpoints.

You will partner with Security, Legal, Compliance, Privacy, IT, and business teams to mature the enterprise data protection program and report outcomes to leadership. 40-hour weeks, with potential contract-to-full-time conversion.

Qualifications

• 7+ years IT security experience with data protection focus.
• Hands-on Purview experience in an enterprise tenant.
• Experience implementing DSPM, DLP, Records Management, eDiscovery, and Data Governance.
• Experience with sensitivity labels, auto-labeling, and user deployment.

Description:

• Run and tune the client’s Microsoft Purview environment, including sensitivity labels, DLP, retention, insider risk, and eDiscovery.
• Build label taxonomies, configure auto-labeling, and roll classification labels out to users.
• Write, manage, and optimize DLP policies across Exchange, SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, and endpoints.
• Monitor and investigate Purview alerts and support ongoing data protection operations.
• Partner with Security, Legal, Compliance, Privacy, IT, Data Governance, and business stakeholders.
• Develop and scale the enterprise data protection program over time.
• Report data protection program status and outcomes to legal, compliance, and security leaders.

Requirements:

• At least 7 years of IT security experience and 5+ years of data protection experience.
• Hands-on experience operating Microsoft Purview in an enterprise production tenant.
• Experience implementing DSPM, DLP, Information Protection, Records Management, eDiscovery, Insider Risk, and Data Governance solutions.
• Experience with sensitivity labels, classification taxonomies, auto-labeling, and user deployment.
• Experience creating and tuning Purview DLP policies across Microsoft 365 services and endpoints.
• Microsoft 365 security administration experience, including roles, RBAC, and Entra ID fundamentals.
• Experience working directly with legal, compliance, privacy, or audit teams.
• Experience with at least one of the following preferred areas: eDiscovery Premium and legal holds; Insider Risk Management or Communication Compliance; retention and records management; DSPM across cloud, SaaS, or on-premises file shares.
• Preferred certifications include SC-401, SC-400, SC-100, or SC-200.
• Must communicate effectively in English and be authorized to work in the United States without current or future visa sponsorship; no degree or certification is required.
