Job summary

Jobtailor seeks a Lead Microsoft 365 Systems Engineer to drive enterprise M365 engineering initiatives across Office 365, Power Platform, SharePoint Online, and related services. You will coordinate multi-disciplinary teams, ensure security, governance, and compliance, and deliver scalable platform solutions across the organization.

Key responsibilities include leading technical teams, guiding data readiness with Purview integration, and overseeing both cloud and on-premises components.

Qualifications

• U.S. Citizen required.
• Must pass federal background investigation and obtain Public Trust.
• Bachelor’s degree in a related technical field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 5 years of experience with Microsoft 365 in large org or government environment.
• Active Microsoft certifications (MS-102, SC-300, AZ-104, or AZ-305-aligned).
• Experience leading technical teams or serving as a technical lead for enterprise platform support.
• Deep experience with Power Platform (Power Apps, Power Automate, Power BI).
• Strong .NET/JavaScript/HTML/CSS knowledge to support integrated M365 & Power Platform solutions.
• Proficiency in PowerShell automation and environment management.
• Strong knowledge of Exchange Online, Intune, Azure AD and Azure ecosystem.
• Experience with SharePoint Online and broader collaboration/platform engineering.
• Familiarity with Power Apps models, SharePoint lists, permissions, data retention, and compliance across M365/AvePoint.

Responsibilities

• Provide technical leadership for enterprise Microsoft 365 engineering activities.
• Lead systems engineering across cloud operations, security, privacy, data governance, and integrated solutions.
• Serve as primary contact for engineering coordination and issue resolution in the M365 environment.
• Oversee SharePoint Online, Power Platform, and related M365 services to align with enterprise standards and security expectations.
• Guide data readiness plans and integration of Purview for information protection and governance.
• Coordinate Windows Server and SQL Server cluster support.
• Lead or support design/implementation of Power Platform environments and pipelines.
• Provide engineering leadership for Defender, Copilot, Loop, Purview, and Graph Connector capabilities.
• Support on-premises SharePoint farm infrastructure.
