Job summary

Excelsior in Albany, NY seeks a Senior Microsoft 365 & SharePoint Engineer to design, implement, and govern our Microsoft 365 collaboration platform including SharePoint Online, Teams, OneDrive, and related cloud services. You will lead governance, security, and automation initiatives, mentor staff, and partner with business units to modernize processes.

This is a full-time hybrid role with two days weekly at the Albany home office. Reporting to the Sr.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in IT, CS, or information systems; equivalent experience may be considered.
5+ years administering Microsoft 365 in enterprise environments.
3+ years SharePoint Online administration and solution development.
Experience with Entra ID, Exchange Online, Teams, and OneDrive.
Experience with governance and security controls for Microsoft 365.
Strong communication and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

Administer Microsoft 365 services including SharePoint Online, Teams, Exchange Online, OneDrive, and Entra ID.
Manage conditional access, RBAC, MFA, access reviews, and licensing policies.
Monitor availability, security, performance, updates, and incidents.
Design and maintain SharePoint Online sites, IA, taxonomy, and content governance.
Build migration and document management solutions with business units.
Establish Teams lifecycle, external sharing, retention practices.
Create dashboards, templates, workflows, and automation to reduce manual work.
Implement Purview, retention, and data governance policies.
Support identity governance, least-privilege access, and audits.
Mentor IT staff and produce knowledge articles and trainings.
