Job summary

Infojini Inc in Philadelphia is seeking a Senior Microsoft 365 Consultant to join the City of Philadelphia’s Platform Engineering team onsite. The role focuses on SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams, Exchange, Power Apps, and Purview to modernize the M365 platform.

You will lead client consultations, deliver trainings, develop governance, and mentor junior staff while aligning with DevOps practices and documentation. This is a 12-month, onsite assignment with opportunities to extend.

Required Qualifications

• Ability to complete an FBI background check for Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) clearance.
• Ability to complete the City of Philadelphia’s required HIPAA compliance training.

Position Overview

The Senior Systems Consultant will be part of the Platform Engineering (PE) team within the City of Philadelphia’s Office of Innovation and Technology (OIT). The consultant will provide consultations, training, and guidance to modernize the City’s Microsoft 365 (M365) platform.

The role will focus on SharePoint, OneDrive, Microsoft Teams, Exchange, Power Apps, Microsoft Purview, and related applications. Office desktop applications such as Word and PowerPoint are outside the scope of this role.

The consultant will meet with clients to understand their business needs, evaluate workflows, and recommend suitable Microsoft-based solutions. They must be able to explain technical options and their potential impact to both technical and nontechnical stakeholders. Once familiar with the team’s processes, the consultant will independently lead client consultations and serve as a subject matter expert (SME) on project teams.

The consultant will also lead training sessions ranging from small project meetings to large workshops for the City’s IT community and other stakeholders. Over time, they will help establish and facilitate a community of practice for M365 applications and related technologies.

As a member of the Platform Engineering team, the consultant will contribute to team initiatives, promote DevOps principles, maintain documentation, lead knowledge-transfer sessions, recommend team metrics, and mentor junior team members. They will also collaborate with other City IT professionals to support platform improvements and modernization initiatives.

The role may occasionally involve handling high-priority support tickets related to VIP requests or critical incidents. However, on-call responsibilities are not required, and most ticket-related work will be associated with consultations and project activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide consultations on Microsoft 365 applications and products.
• Conduct regular training sessions and workshops on M365 applications.
• Serve as the technical subject matter expert for SharePoint, OneDrive, Teams (including Voice and Rooms), Exchange, Power Apps, and Microsoft Purview.
• Monitor and evaluate M365 product updates, feature releases, and changes, and advise stakeholders on their impact.
• Develop Power Apps solutions and establish SharePoint governance practices.
• Lead M365 adoption and modernization initiatives and promote an evergreen approach to platform updates.
• Support the Platform Engineering team by mentoring junior team members and facilitating knowledge transfer.
• Develop and maintain relationships with the City’s IT community.
• Maintain and curate technical documentation and a library of supported solutions.
• Contribute to DevOps practices, team metrics, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Provide weekly updates to the supervisor on accomplishments, blockers, and potential issues.
• Attend onsite meetings, training sessions, presentations, and consultations at various City facilities as needed.
• Coordinate with the Learning Management System team to deliver technical training and support.
• Assist with high-priority tickets and special assignments as required.
