Job summary

Eaton Corporation’s Electrical Engineering Services & Systems division seeks a Senior Microgrid Controls Engineer to develop control solutions for customers across the U.S. Travel ~35% for project execution and commissioning. Salary range is $86,000–$126,000 with paid overtime and a company vehicle.

You will create, test, and deploy software for automation controllers and HMIs for Microgrid applications, and collaborate with internal teams and customers to meet specifications and deadlines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering from an accredited institution.
• 3+ years of experience in power distribution controls.
• Understanding of Electric Power Systems.
• Understanding of Microgrid operations.
• Understanding of DERs (PV, BESS, Generators).
• Valid driver’s license.

Responsibilities

• Create, modify, test, and deploy software for Automation Controllers and HMIs for Microgrid applications.
• Follow drawings and specifications for project implementation.
• Select components and create bill of materials.
• Prepare submittal documentation and meet with customers.
• Provide sketches, direction to Electrical Designers for project drawings.
• Prepare SOO and test procedures.
• Review DER submittals and coordinate control requirements with vendors.
• Collaborate with Eaton groups to ensure Microgrid solutions meet design intent.
• Assist with factory testing and field start-ups as required.
• Troubleshoot systems that are not functioning properly.
