Job summary

AbbVie Inc. seeks a dedicated Microbiology Technician to support product release and site compliance through a range of microbiological tests including EM, water sampling and sterility.

You will generate technical reports, maintain SOPs and CAPAs, and help trend data to resolve OOS results. The role requires a third-level qualification in Microbiology or Biological Sciences and at least 12 months in a regulated manufacturing environment, with strong GMP knowledge and excellent documentation

Qualifications

• Third-level qualification in Microbiology, Biological Sciences, or a related scientific discipline.
• Minimum 12 months' experience within a regulated manufacturing environment, preferably aseptic pharmaceutical production.
• Strong working knowledge of the pharmaceutical industry, including sterile manufacturing processes and GMP requirements.
• Practical experience in aseptic processing, contamination control, and microbiological laboratory techniques.
• Understanding of microbiological testing methods, environmental monitoring, and sterile operations.
• Strong technical, analytical, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to investigate and resolve microbiological issues.
• Experience in a highly regulated environment with commitment to quality, compliance and continuous improvement.
• Excellent communication, documentation and report-writing skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform microbiological testing activities to support product release and site compliance (EM, water sampling, bioburden, endotoxin, APET, sterility).
• Generate accurate and timely technical reports and test documentation.
• Draft, review, and maintain SOPs, protocols, training materials, investigation reports, CAPAs, deviations.
• Trend and analyze microbiological data; investigate OOS and adverse results.
• Support validation and qualification activities for microbiology lab equipment and test methods.
• Ensure all testing activities comply with cGMP, regulatory requirements, and site quality standards.
