Job summary

Zoetis is seeking a Micro Lab Technician III to act as a subject matter expert in microbiology, driving daily workflow and ensuring compliance with safety, QC, and LIS processes. The role involves advanced testing, instrument maintenance, and training teammates across the lab.

The ideal candidate has a BA/BS in biology or microbiology with 3+ years of lab experience or an associate degree with 7+ years of microbiology experience, including culture and molecular techniques.

Qualifications

• 3+ years in Biology/Microbiology required or 7+ years with Associate degree/certification
• Experience with fungi, dermatophytes, and culture types
• Familiarity with CLSI guidelines and biosafety requirements

Responsibilities

• Perform and train staff on microbiology tests including complex cultures
• Follow safety protocols and ensure adherence by the team
• Lead QA plans and participate in quality control processes
• Train colleagues on SOPs for setup and processing
• Interpret culture results and assist with difficult cases
• Manage LIS data entry, accessioning and reporting
• Perform reporting of results and manager review in LIS
• Handle customer issues via Salesforce and referrals
• Set up AST and report antimicrobial susceptibility
• Maintain lab instruments and troubleshoot as needed
• Stay current with literature on antimicrobial resistance and CLSI updates
• Ensure EH&S biosafety compliance and inventory management
